[Pontoon, Spanish 21] Two 3s vs Dealer's 2
Pontoon (Spanish 21) Strategy
Is splitting 3s better in this situation? In the Pontoon basic strategy, split is recommended.
However, some players ignore low card splitting and naturally hit the pair.
In this case, hitting the pair, isn't it disadvantageous to them?
Its value is 6 and is considered a weakest number in Pontoon as well as Blackjack.
Anyway, I decided to conduct a Pontoon experiment to calculate the winning percentages for both choices.
This video consists of 16 scenes selected from all.
The playback time is about 15 min.
Results of the experiment
The following graphs show the results based on the 100 data.
Is it a good result?
Hitting 6, the player are more likely to bust his hand than hitting 3.
Therefore, the losing rate is high, I guess.
The results except for a tie
are as follows:
Winning Percentages
Split 47% Hit 39%
The chip's fluctuation
Split -5 chips Hit -35 chips
Split -5 chips Hit -35 chips
(Bet amount: 2 chips every time)
To sum up, split is more preferable than hit.
One more thing.
Look at this graph.
One more thing.
Look at this graph.
What's the 3-unit win?
When splitting a pair and having a chance to double down on either hand, we will get an opportunity to put 3-unit on all our betting boxes.
If we win all, we can call it 3-unit win.
In this experiment, there are such opportunities 25 out of the 100 times.
The player succeeded in the 3-unit win 18 out of the 25 times.
It corresponds to 72%.
Isn't it a great result?
Compared to Blackjack, the probability of doubling chances is quite high.
In Pontoon, we can do it at any hand.
It's OK even after taking cards.
I realized that Pontoon is also interesting.
I wanna play it in casinos with my own strategy some day.
That's all for today.
Thank you for reading my article.
Hope it'll be useful.
Bye.
