[BJ Strategy Match] Defensive vs Aggressive
Are you defensive or aggressive when you play Blackjack?
This time, as a title of Strategy Match, I conducted a Blackjack experiment.
Which strategy do you think would be effective to win?
The Defensive Strategy
1 Stand on 12 or more vs Dealer's 2-6
2 Surrender 12 or more vs Dealer's 7-Ace
3 Never double down nor split a pair
The Aggressive Strategy
1 Always hit 16 or less
2 Always stand on 17 or more
3 Always double down or split a pair
This video consists of the 25 trials.
The playback time is about 10 min.
If you're interested, check it out.
To get more precise results, I collected more 75 data.
The following graphs show the results based on the 100 data.
He shouted, "Surrender!" more often.
How were his decisions correct?
The answer is shown as the following graph.

His decisions were correct at a rate of about 3/4.
Isn't it good?
He was too aggressive to play well or just out of luck.
He had to hit hand 16 even against dealer's 6.
The winning percentages except for a tie are as follows:
Defensive 28% Aggressive 32%
The chip's fluctuation (Bet amount: 2 chips every time)
Defensive -49 chips Aggressive -63 chips
To sum up, either of the strategies is not good.
If they're improved, the results might be better.
After all, when we should surrender, double down or split a pair, that's the problem.
That's all.
Hope this article will be useful.

Good luck for your strategy.
Bye.
