Hi, there.

I'm a Japanese guy, Nokkie, who studies about Blackjack to become a smarter player in the future.

Last Sunday I went to my sister's house and she showed an interesting carrot.

The carrot looked as if it danced.
My niece said, "Put its eyes on the carrot."
And then, my sister replied, "I cannot cut it if do so."
Have you ever seen such a strange shaped vegetables?


Anyway, I took a practical test today as well.

It was about the case: a player's hand is 12 and a dealer's initial card is 2.

In this situation, 'hit' is recommended in the basic strategy.

However, some players choose 'stay', because they guess the next card is 10.
22 bust by hitting happens frequently, doesn't it?
To be sure, avoiding bust is important.

Then, why is 'hit' recommended in the BS?
Probably 'hit' is the best choice.

To verify the effectiveness of 'hit' in this situation, I decided to take another test.

It will be about 'stay'.

Which do you think is better, 'hit' or 'stay'?

To be honest, I don't guess which is better.

Through the test, I learned two things.

One is that the result of 'stay' in this situation was not so bad.

There was not much difference between the two results.

Then I'm in trouble.

What should we do when we meet with this situation?

Well, I suppose we need to guess the card which will be dealt out to us.

For example, when we guess the next card will be 10, we will choose 'stay'.

The other is that low cards like 2, 3 or 4 should be dealt out to the dealer.

The reason is that the dealer's hand will become 4, 5, or 6 and then we can expect the dealer to bust..

So we shouldn't draw the low cards.

To sum up, we should choose 'stay' when we guess the next card will be 2, 3, 4, or 10.

Then how can we guess it?

This is my assignment.

If I hit upon a good answer, I will write it.
