[Blackjack] soft 17 vs Dealer's 7
Blackjack Strategy
Do you hit it or stand on it?In the basic strategy of Blackjack, hit is recommended.
However, some players choose stay.
In my case, I usually hit soft 17, regardless of the dealer's face-up card.
But my friend says, "I stand on soft 17 because the next card may be 10 if hitting."
To be sure, I partly agree with him.
It might be a good idea to make me satisfied with a tie in this case.
Then are there any differences of the winning percentages between hit and stay?
I'm curious about it, so I decided to conduct a Pontoon experiment to calculate the rates.

First, under hole card style.
Next, under the European no hole card style.
In this video, Japanese language is mainly used.
You might learn some words by heart without any efforts while checking it out.
▼Experiment 2▼
After recording the videos, I collected more 60 data to obtain more precise results.
.
More Precise Result
The following two graphs show the results based on the 100 data.
At a rate of just 1/2, we would lose when hitting soft 17.
Seeing the winning rates, we would prefer hit to stay.
But stay is preferable to hit in comparison to the losing rates.
Isn't that confusing?
The results except for a tie
are as follows:
Winning Percentages
Hit 43% Stay 47%
There's not a big difference between the two rates.
Compared to the losing rates for each, we should stand on soft 17 against D's 7.
That's all for today.
Let me know your idea if you like.
Don't be a stranger.
Bye.
