I'm a Japanese guy, Nokkie. I'm a cram school teacher and normally work in the evening. When I have time, I make a study of Blackjack through taking a test practically. I wanna become a smarter blackjack player in the future. I've been seeking for a convincing rule recently.

[Blackjack] Two 7s against Dealer's 2

Blackjack Strategy

Should we split the pair?
Two 7s vs Dealer's 2 in Blackjack

In the basic strategy of Blackjack, split is recommended.
But some players seem unwilling to do it, and stand on the hand just as 14.

I conducted a Blackjack experiment to calculate the winning percentages for both choices.

Next, I took the same experiment under the European no hole card style.

In this video, Japanese language is mainly used, but you will vaguely understand how the experiment proceeds.

More Precise Result

Lastly, the following two graphs show the results based on the 100 data.
Blackjack experiment Result of split(Two 7s vs D2)
It's easy to memorize the losing probability. (Just 1/2)
As a special note, the player won triple or more 11 out of 100 times.
For example, three wins at one doubled hand & one single hand, etc.

Blackjack experiment Result of stay(Two 7s vs D2)
Standing on two 7s means standing on 14.
The graph also shows the probabilities of standing on 14 against D's 2.
We would lose at a rate of 2/3.

The results except for a tie

are as follows:

Winning Percentages
Split 45%    Stay 34%

The chip's fluctuation
Split -3 chips    Stay -32 chips

To sum up, splitting 7s against Dealer's 2 is preferable to standing on two 7s.

That's all.
I need to update another article now.
I hope this article will be useful.
Bye.
