[Blackjack] Two 10s vs Dealer's 6

What do you think of splitting 10s?
Two 10s against Dealer's 6 in Blackjack

Hi,there.

I'm a Japanese guy, Nokkie.
I like casino games very much.
I've been into making studies of card games, Blackjack and Pontoon this year.
I wanna memorize the basic strategies properly and examine how effective they are.

In short, my dream is to make better strategies for me and to play with them in a real casino.

Today I'm going to write about the strategy of Blackjack.
In the BS, stay is recommended when a player's first hand is a pair of 10 regardless of a dealer's initial card.

However, some players split the pair and other players on the same table are mad about the splitting.

In my case, I never split 10s.
I saw some young Aussie players splitting it before.
They usually did it without hesitation, and never seemed to mind the noise from the complainers.
I envy such a personality.

Anyway, I conducted a test practically about the case:
A player's first hand is a pair of 10 and a dealer's initial card is 6.

▼Practical Test▼

From the results gained by the test, I can say that stay is much better than split.

However, the chip's fluctuation doesn't differ much.

After splitting 10s, the hands are like two kinds of 10-double.
Therefore the winning percentage of split is not so bad.

The reason why the young Aussie players split 10s might be that they believe they could get additional winning chips like hand BJ if Ace is drawn to their split hand.

As you already know, when the first two cards are 21 (Ace & any of 10, J, Q, K), the hand is considered blackjack.
And then, the odds are 3 to 2.

Any 21 after splitting, however, is NOT blackjack, but normal 21.
So the odds are 1 to 1.

If this is a new tip to the players, they should be known.
If I were near them, I could tell it to them.
Besides, I wanna talk about my test results.

If he/she still tries to split the pair, that's his/her decision.
We should accept it.
As they say, there's no accounting for tastes.

That's all for today.
I hope this article will be interesting to you.
If you have anything interesting, I wanna know it.

Thank you.  Have a good weekend.
