[Pontoon,Spanish 21] Two 8s vs Dealer's 10
Aren't you excited about this splitting?
Konnichiwa.
Good afternoon.
I'm a Japanese guy, Nokkie.
It's hot like summer here in my place.
It's about 2:00 in the afternoon.
My student will come here to make his self-study for the mid-term exam.
In fact, I possess a school called juku.
You can also call it a cram school.
I'm a teacher and take care of junior high school students.
Today I will keep the blog while looking after the student.
Anyway, I'll move on to the main subject.
Today, I'm going to write about the basic strategy of Pontoon.
Which action do you take when you have two 8s and the dealer's initial card is 10?
The BS says, "Split the pair."
Do you obey it or not?
It's the same strategy as the one in Blackjack.
In my case, I will NOT be willing to do it, though.
I like it the best of the three choices, because the game may be exciting to the players..
For example, that may bring us double down after the splitting, etc.
How do you think the game will proceed?
Same as usual, I conducted a practical test in this case.
▼Practical Test▼
The winning percentage in splitting the pair was better than I expected.
On the contrary, the one in staying was terrible.
I will never choose 'stay' against Dealer's 10.
I will not, in any hand 16, either.
I like the two 8s in Pontoon better than that in Blackjack
I expect either of the split hands to be 678-21.
Then I will be able to get 3 to 2 bonus.
Its odds are just same as BJ.
That's great, isn't it?
Let's expect it.
Let's encourage a player who's doing it.
In Japan, number 8 implies something good.
Using number 8, some Japanese people believe that we will have a good tie with someone and make good friends or the above.
'Forever' is a suitable word for number 8.
So we shouldn't break it in hitting or be easily beat without any action, I mean staying 16.
That's all for today.
I enjoyed writing this time as well.
I hope it will be interesting to you.
I'll be right back. Bye.
