I'm a Japanese guy, Nokkie. I'm a cram school teacher and normally work in the evening. When I have time, I make a study of Blackjack through taking a test practically. I wanna become a smarter blackjack player in the future. I've been seeking for a convincing rule recently.

[Pontoon,Spanish 21] Two 6s vs Dealer's 4

Can you split 6s in this situation without hesitation?
Two 6s against Dealer's 4 in Pontoon

Konbanwa, minasan.

Good evening, everyone.

I'm a Japanese man, Nokkie.
I like not only Blackjack but also Pontoon.

Today I struggled to upload a new video to my Youtube channel.
Its length or volume was very large.
And then, I split the video, but my camera suddenly started stopping.
The volume seemed to be the problem.

Since I didn't have any other choices, I erased another new video.
After that, I managed to split the video and upload it.
The erased video was about the case; Player's two 6s against Dealer's 4.

I noted the data before erasing it.

The number of the trials was 37.

I took a photo of the ending of the test ending only.
There were big differences between the three kinds of chips.
At the beginning, started with 30 chips each.
Pontoon Strategy Experiment (Two 6s vs D4)

The results are shown below.

Case 1  Split (following the basic strategy)

The winning percentage is 56%.
The chip's fluctuation is +20.

Case 2  Hit

The winning percentage is 38%.
The chip's fluctuation is -18.

Case 3  Stay

The winning percentage is 35%.
The chip's fluctuation is -22.

From the percentages, players should split a pair of 6 against Dealer's 4.

As a merit of doing it, a player sometimes has a chance to double down after splitting.
For example, 5's card comes after 6 and then hand 11 appears.
Since Dealer's 4 is weak, many players will double down without hesitation.

Besides, it is not necessary for the player to surrender if his hand gets 12-16 by doubling.
The BS says so.

Why don't you get excited about splitting it?

I'm afraid there's no video this time.
I will be careful about the length and the volume while making videos.

That's all.
Thank you for reading.

I'll come back soon.  Bye.
